Supplications, pleadings

So far away our prayers,

though heathen

and unused to utterance,

sound out,

not being so devout,

but what does prayer mean?

We feel, we heal

our friends,

not wishing to offend

religions or beliefs

in other things

not of this earth;

my prayers are a request,

preier, prier, pregare

as I ask for help

from all the elements of hope

that they might form a catalyst

for healing those in need

and hearing my pleading soul

the molecules of sad demise

shed tears

the eyes of all so fixed upon a goal

of soothing sacrifice

of one's own life to give

to swell the hearts of those

one wishes well,

to make their burdens light

their plight to dissipate

and create new visions,

decisions to be well,

and banish all bad thoughts

of heaven's or of hell,

be well

in this life's troubled room

and fill their proper place

with grace.

There’s a

There's a one-size-for-all-prayer that works for me: May all beings be free of suffering. Brave poem dear sister. ~A Don’t let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart.

Dear Margaret Ann,

This a emotional appeal for wellness. We are all in need of grace. Thank you for your poetic reminder. The last line of the first stanza: "...what does prayers mean?"; alternatively, what do prayers mean or what does prayer mean. Brian

Prayer gives hope... even in the deepest despair...

Hi Ann, Now this is a great projection of thought as you soul search the reasons why and hoping to have an answer for the world and all those in plight. I like the way you have elaborated on prayers, as if you wish and will it all over this season a period of well being and promise. I think all those with a kind and gentle nature wish for such things. If we all just stopped for a moment and pleaded such things a better world we would stand in right now... but the world seems to turn and never stops and thinks long enough to do global action on a scale that is needed. Nicely put my friend! Dale :)

A Prayer...

A prayer is a supplication, a wish for the well-being of the world inhabitants. It doesn't have to have a name for itself, or a specific target, spirit, or enity. It is enough for me, if the wish be true. Oh, my Queen! Your royalness shines, in a world so murky and blind. A light to be followed. ~ Your knight of the realm, Sir Gee.

Your words are the usual

Your words are the usual sweet incense that speak loves language elequently, and weigh your heart in the balance of the stars, as full and bright, as the sky above the North latitudes of Norway, dear Ann

Beautifully, fluidly written

I applaude your intention, but it is so gentle. I get really angry. Is fighting for grace like fucking for virginity? I don't know, but I feel a warrior spirit wanting to fight for change. I have seen so often that you are a gorgeous person and a skilled wordcrafter but this might be one of the first poems of yours I have commented on. My memories of the months before my suspension are hazy, I had a bad breakdown. But I care, perhaps too much. Someone described me as hyper-empathic. Anyhow, your prayers are my prayers too. I do pray. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible

Thought process on words

I just have one question again on this poetry workshop for all...Do we have to use these types of words to get our point across? Could we possibly be a little more kinder with choice of words then such as this Elf? I know some would not take offense to it and others just might care, in my opinion we could all use a little less profanity and a little more consideration and better choice of words when we feel a need to critiqe a written read. No matter what I say on this one I know it shall continue but I am frankly disappointed to see these written words on Anna's page. I get really angry. Is fighting for grace like fucking for virginity? I guess I am headed for a backlash again on this one, so be it. WORD CHOICE WORD CHOICE...THOUGHT PROCESS..THOUGHT PROCESS......CONNATIONS....... Thank you for letting my once again share my opinion as their are many and all on here of which I may not share but will agree to peacefully disagree. I hope Annd and Elf you both had a Happy Holiday and a very Merry Christmas. love Magics02

Here's my dear friend Nina

You who welcomed me in the first place and made me, with Kata and Rett among others, feel at home immediately, it is you with the grace of understanding that gives this site its solid good foundations to spring from, and we all thank you for all the work we know you have put into it. What a moving comment you put here for me, if I should be able to fulfil its expression then I am blessed by your insight and happy at your understanding, yes open I am. Yowks its snowed all day yesterday and now 'they' say the weather at -20%C or more is on the way, so I must look in the cellar for all those thick clothes, sh! I have a fox that I bought in 1964 in a rummage sale for 15 shillings, about 2 $, shouldn't wear fur but- well it is the warmest. The sky this evening was a prayer of colour, palest pinks and blue blues, grey whites and delicate shades and tints separating all these pastel rainbows when the sun finally came out to light up the white cloaked landscape. Beautiful, grace. Hope you and yours are well and happy too, and do give my special love to Kata for me, I wonder about her! Much love from Ann of Norway

moral of the words

Elf it was not a moralistic rant, it was me just being me. I guess I am learning on this site alot lately...that not all people are offended by such vulgarities, and I guess certain things strike me as odd or insensitive. I just was raised differently that is all. So if it is a moralistic rant you call it thats okay elf I understand. Great poem Anna magics02

you are the queen of compassion & consideration as well my deare

My delightful Norway wonder, this is a wonderful work Annushka, so much swirling response within me that I can barely express, I am deeply touched by this & have some sense of it's inspirations & longing... you are the queen of compassion & consideration as well my dearest one. I feel as you do, that sense of prayer (like many of the cultural festivities) has been dominated by the Christian sense of it, when it belongs to ALL of us, even those who believe there is no spiritual element in life... You have captured this so gracefully here. The world would benefit from an abundance of this sentiment, you inspire it & define it wonderfully here... I bow low with joy & pleasure to share in your art my wise friend. xxx Cheers Anni~ "To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." ~William Shakespeare, Hamlet.
