bitter end

I search for a new song

to accompany my tears:

Silent markings still

feel real

and

Hesitation scars still

play out their soft cries

each time I try

to own the cracks-

shelve them,

in neat boxes

with lids that hold,

though never forever.

My dance is one

of enchanted powerlessness-

I wince with each step

and still

marvel at the

rituals of self pity I hold dear

they have stuck

like multicoloured

sugar sprinkles on cake.

Bass strings,

taunt and tight

say it best.

Echo after echo

The same song:

It seems time heals

less and less

with it’s pass.

whilst, the sun still shines

with all its torturous  glory

Hello

with the sentences: Silent markings still feel real and Hesitation scars still play out their soft cries are you talking about cutting or self mutilation? If so, I understand where you are coming from. This poem is heavy in bold imagery and metaphor. I like it. Always, Cat

....

nice, this has a meloncholy (sp?) tone to it. Also a little hopeless but an acceptance of knowing it will never leave.

Welcome

Your voice comes through with sadness on this one , searching for a new song is not about hearing but listening. This is an excellent first poem and I do look forward to reading more of your work. Best Wishes Seabhac

Ah Koki!

How I like your Bitter End (ings)... They are sweeter than most others attempts at sweetness ;) A very good write from you and I am coming back to this 1st poem from the finishing line as it were - i.e./ having seen the others before this one! Looking forward to all your past and future works!;) Bonita j
