Sequins
-You must be a gypsy kidGrandpa shouted from the kitchen bench and
reached for the brandy glass.
Red-eyed and shaky.
-Is this the thanks I get?
In old age.
A fucking circus monkey!
Small as I was,
I did a pirouette,
with my mouth full of sequins.
For the most beautiful thing I knew
were Gypsies.
