The criss-scratch sound
of her sketching, comforts me
and I'm blessed to have her by my side.

It really hasn't been all that easy
for my timing's always been suspect, at best;
as has been my judgments in the area of love.

I was growing so weary of being all alone, together
that I nearly overlooked her,
and I must officially apologize for that.

Time hurls more than mere minutes at us,
it also throws missed chances, dead time, and broken dreams, our way;
so that we'll be more complete, when it's time.

Then, when she does come along,
and you really "click" with all that she is about;
that's when you realize, that true love is really effortless.

I'm finding that, although I really don't deserve her
she feels that I do, and cares equally for me,
allowing us both a shot at a relationship.

I want to give her everything
without taking away from her, her life lessons,
because all that she has gone through...good and bad,

has helped make her, exactly who she is...
and who I care for.....so, if she'll have me,
I'll proudly walk beside her.....throughout all of eternity.
