Falling Stars of Wisdom

Falling Stars of Wisdom

Hark, hark the sound in the night

the snow each crystal falling

the light in the dark

the shining white spark

the moment of Christmas's bright

where stars come to earth

because of a birth

of a Christ

and with mirth we rejoice

singing songs in one voice

its the joy of the world in desperate straights

a time for all religions to learn to relate

a time when all hearts fall in love

a time to take stock of our worth

a time to learn to love one and all

the brown, the black and the green

and be happy as humans in this pleasant earth

its time to complete a decree

where everyone sees a new ME.

How sincerly adorable and

How sincerly adorable and embrasing of the holiday spirit! I laughed all the way through. I wrote a christmas poem too, they are so much fun to share! I am considering adding another verse, your wonderful lines have reminded me that I had no mention of why we celebrate Christmas, Christ's birth. Which I of coarse know, it's just not as easy for me to write about. You have got me thinking now. Good read Ann, thanks so much for sharing it with us. Julie D.D.

Stars of Wisdom...

So very moving lines from my Queen. The royal mind is thinking beyond presents, and holiday cheer, to the real reason for our celebrating Christmas. I think that people often forget why. It has become just a reason for giving and recieving gifts in many households. I am not a very religious man, but I am sure that there was a person called Jesus Christ who gave his life for the good of man, and gave us the blessing of sacrifice. 2009 yrs. after his death, we remember him and his teachings. Very nice work, ~ your humble knight, Sir Gee

Mange takk begge to.

I wrote this at the same time.- Outside the white of a little blanket of snow makes the hills look like  Father Christmas's beard, its coming yet again this Christmas charade of life,  and we get sucked into all the glitter and joy  in a screaming syrup of sounds and smells and laughter,  sometimes real,  as with little children  but sometimes a laughter that is unreal,  is false, and that is the pain of Christmas,  those alone who wish to take part  in deep anguish,  while those who don't, fret about their loneliness and become ill thinking of it. Oh what have humans cooked up to give joy with the one hand and pain with the other, "Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth." The dualistic puzzle, that once was whole,  fragmented into little pieces we spend our lives trying to fit those pieces together and who succeeds?  Does anybody really succeed? And what is there to succeed for?  Is there anything WHOLE, is there anything around, beyond, inside us that can be called WHOLE? Probably not, sadly we are but products of chance,  and those narrow margins that in fact produced our species,  human beings, those strange little self opinionated ant-like creatures  creeping and rushing about on this planet earth,  came about by mutations of chemicals and atoms  accumulated in space, producing this mysteriously  magic, clever instrument of existence that we ponder,  what are we,  why are we,  and how are we to act or not,  to BE. I wax philosophic, and don't know what the hell I am talking about, but I weave a picture in another way from the Scientist and definitely another way from the religious fanatic, and the fun thing is that we will NEVER know and search as we might will NEVER get THE answer. Amen as they say, Ann

Christmas is a good excuse to share as this poem suggests

How I love the first section of this, it melted me & warmed me to you like so much that you write. I am annoyed with myself for having trouble with some of the latter because it kind of annoys me that Christianity claimed this holiday season to manipulate the Druids etc.... But I do NOT want to politicize this delightful write... Christmas is just an excuse as far as I am concerned to do exactly what you have expressed here so I am with you all the way (It's just the Christ born thing that gets me, but I have NO doubt you are fully aware that was actually not his bithday & you wrote this poem with the gorgeous spirit I know you have & I share you sentiments), It's a shame we don't consider each other so for the rest of the year, but some is better than none huh! I wonderful joyous & generous poem lovely woman. Cheers xxx Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". H.H. the Dalai Lama

This poem is a lovely gift for a festive season

Dearest Annushka, I just wanted to restate, that I appreciate this poem in the wonderful spirit it was written & I know you have great awareness of our history & culture, I should ask your forgiveness for pointing out the issue of Christs birthday, I'm sure you know I agree with your views that Christ was no doubt a great human being that spoke up with good in his heart to share with others, I meant no insult my dearest friend. This poem is a lovely gift for a festive season that may have dubious origin, but has become an important worldwide (mostly) excuse to connect & let our heart be less guarded & far more generous than normal.. it is better that this happens at least once a year than none at all & I don't care what the excuse is in the end, I do wish it happened for longer & more often, but that's my wish. Let it stand that that can be my wish for the world into the new year then. Much love to you & wonderful Christmas wishes of joy xxx Cheers Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". Yup!

I am in total agreement with both of you! I do know the history of the holiday, and how it was manipulated. You are right about some being better than none. Happy Holiday! ~ Sir Gee

Knowing even a bit of

Knowing even a bit of history... the rise of Christianity, ancient civilizations, and common myths...... However, it is good that we can focus for a time on coming together for the holidays at least... even if some (many) of us can barely be in the same room with our relatives. lol. Hugs to All, Merry Xmas... X does mark the spot, after all. ~A p.s. your poem reminds me of THE WHO song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzLky4U-xCg Don’t let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart.

Heart warming indeed!

Hi Ann! This is a starts off light hearted with the world blown with white crystals cast upon the wind to stop and remember the time and is beautifully conveyed and aptly put to add the joy of the season! Love the song of mirth as it actually makes you wanna hollier and gives the spirit of the time into your soul... which leads on to the personal reflection at the end, which opens up the mind nad makes us all stop and think. Yes this world would be a far better place if we people like you in charge of its affairs Ann. Beautifully put! Dale :)

Worth

Oh thank you dear Dale, you are daring to think that I could be in charge of the world's affairs that is flattering! I only wish it could be so, and that we understood that fact, that we are, in spite of our differing beliefs, on the same wave-length if we look deeper and stop hanging onto all the rigmarole that has camouflaged the core, the essence of worth in this life's enactment. As animals we do not know about it, as human animals we have the power to understand and what do we do with that understanding, we squander it on petty things instead of grasping the worthwhile, and infinitely more wonderful, enjoyable things and together dance through our lives with far less worries and troubles; one thought perhaps at one time that education would teach us how, but even that has taken the same kind of role as the religions, they have dogma's and rituals that distort our natures and make us into pawns of life when we could all feel like kings and queens if we could only see how. Some leaders have touched on this 'truth' in fact many including Jesus, Buddha, oh so many other wonderful thinkers and poets of the mind, using parables and metaphors to make clear the hidden worth's that lie there for us to perceive. Fairy tales have the same role for children, And adults(!) and the message comes home in almost an intuitive manner despite our amazement at its simplicity. I feel there must be a 'way' that could lead to this, but now we have developed so many variations on the themes of life that the maze of them is very difficult to 'unravel' and simplify to that worth. Oh blimey you got me waffling dear Dale, but thank you for your confidence in me, we do not always practice what we preach,ha,ha!!!! Yours with love from a thinker, Ann
