Kindness coming home

She follows stars that dawdle to their destiny
She edges to the crevices of hope
Since she is tired today
But she shoulders all of that behind her curtain
Silken hair she hates to lose
And so would I

I told her
‘Bind your silken locks across the universe
Use them as your tightrope to these hearts across the world
And when you rest
Curl them into silver dreamer’s pillows
Cradling your hearts desire

When the weariness is weighty
Take a blanket of your words
And the cosy sentiments of your admirers
Set them sail across the comfort of the clouds

You sent your kindness and desire across the ether
Now they turn to see you slowing down a little
And patiently they shuffle back,
with a warm smile as you meet them
They are warmed inside the hearts of those you passed them to
And then come home to you
In the comfort of your courage’

I wish you good health, good companionship & good days for years

Oooh did it again, didn't realised I'd left myself logged in, but it's good, am so glad you liked it, all for you Jayne of courage & wonder. Your courage shows up all over the place, your writing is a testament to stepping into new spaces (I was reading your comments re that apols) & bravo, wonderful elements you've gathered from your explorations, beautifully woven together... But we all know that it doesn't stop there... More strength to you, you seem like a warrior woman to me Jayne in the best way, I wish you good health, good companionship & good days for years to come. Cheers Anni~ xx "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". H.H. the Dalai Lama

Anni

This is a beautiful poem that you wrote to our friend Jayne. And it has that stellar eternalness, cloud like essences, ethereal and universal qualities---those cloudthings---that I have come to recognize and to enjoy in your poetry---yet there is a down to earth, practical message. I find it hard to choose, but I especially like this verse: 'When the weariness is weighty Take a blanket of your words And the cosy sentiments of your admirers Set them sail across the comfort of the clouds' Always, Deelilah

had the funniest image of you in the big hefty truck with your d

Hey gorgeous Dee, how are things I wonder... Where did I read about your poodle? I had the funniest image of you in the big hefty truck with your dainty poodle & your gorgeous wild womanness, made me smile. I'm glad you like this it felt good to write, you know those ones, I felt it coming on during a conversation (pm) with Jayne, it's kind of cosy having buddies from the same country, though we are far apart & I think she is already experiencing very hot summer whilst ours has only teased us with a few hot day & lots of rain again (it wrecks the crops this late in the season, swells the grains before harvest... but most of us still rejoice the water shortages of the past few years have been a real concern)... I had a quick read of one of your recent ones, & was impressed but too exhausted to leave a comment, I will get there soon, but I hope all is great in your life Dee. Great to see you here. Cheers xx Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". H.H. the Dalai Lama

I'm sure JayC loved it Anni

For once I dont have anything to say about smoothing the flow lol....although I think the long line in the last stanza could easily be broken into two. The only other thing I would suggest is losing the aside at the end of the first verse ("And so would I") and "I told her" since that is directly implied by the command to "Bind your silken locks....". with the usual BWs Keith

I am sure you could whip this to a far more smooth consistency s

My dear Professor of creamy delights I am sure you could whip this to a far more smooth consistency should you be inclined... just now I'm too buggered to think of doing so, but I am sure you are right about the asides... it's just that poem was born from a conversation with Jayne & I kind of wanted the personal in... I will revisit though since it's the overall effect I suppose not the sentiment that necessarilly is the important. Hope you are enjoying the festive season & the prospect of a wee break (?)from proffing (chuckle). Lovely wishes to you smoothy Cheers Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". Deelilah got it...

Right off the bat! Those are the best lines of all! I am not sure about losing the asides. They do tend to make it a little more personal, which I am sure was your intention. On the other hand, the omission wouldn't hurt in the least. Such beautiful sentiments, echoed by us all. Hope you and the otters, are enjoying our summer, just be sure and send it back on time! ~ Sir Gee

I watched the worlds weather this evening, they said rain for NY

Hey Gee man! Nice to see you, yes, YOU got it... the aside actually were really to reflect the personal as I discussed above, but as always I see the Prof's point. I will have a go at how it feels without them... maybe I'll ask Jayne what she prefers, since it is for her this one. We will take good care of your summer my friend & send it back bright & shiny with love in it's soul. It hasn't really bloomed into a hot summer yet here, though I think further north it is already pretty full on. I watched the worlds weather this evening, they said rain for New York, I was hoping for some snow for you... but that may be too early as you explained. Next year the otters will mean all of us together so it is a busy time . I do hope you have a lovely season Gee, my best to your family. xx Cheers Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". Oh Anni on a tightrope:-

Oh Anni on a tightrope:- I will walk those silken threads and visit you there in Australia, I will look out for them at the next sundown, and walk into the sky towards the east, around the world to see you, perhaps I can rest on those silver dreamer's pillows and cradle my hearts desire in my lap, you send us on journeys so warm and friendly in this poem, who would not like to avail themselves of your vision, your life giving attention to home. Oh heavens I am not casting myself as kindness here am I? I only like the path that you describe for the home-comer as being a worthy one for anyone seeking home. Shuffle shuffle into the realms of the stars you lovely thinker dear Anni, with love from Annushka
