Ow! Just OW! Rett, you are putting the point on your arrow of penetrating expression, the red on the rose, the flame on the fire, the red berry on the holly, the blame on the folly of Christmas time not wine, but blood red as you said. Not only that but setting the whole to the sound that has always captured our hearts and blurred our vision, you I don't know what to call you, you.......? Or have I misunderstood what a 'deer-stand' is? That's the effect this had on me right now dear Rett! Love Ann of Norway

I don't know what you think a deer stand is Ann

It is a stand either open or semi closed in where hunters will sit and wait for a deer to pass by so they can shoot it. This is done in strict adherence to the law. You have to have a hunting license and according to where you hunt you are allowed one or two males or one females according to the deer population. Each one must be tagged after being shot and the tags must match. This is only allowed during a hunting season. Violators can be put in jail and have their guns confiscated and hefty fines levied on them. I love backstrap, deer steaks and deer sausage. I don't believe in trophy killing or hunting out of season or violating the laws on limits. all in all though,I am glad you read the poem. *L* It is meant as a parody on the way southerners and a lot of hunters are perceived. I liked both your versions, and I vote to keep the beer keg upright. Rett, I think this one fairly sang itself. This one may have worked even better than the first, though that was good, and a one horse chevrolet is hard to beat. Deelilah
