PROMETHEUS BOUND

Silence. The cragged rocks upon which I stand precipitously bound -
obliquely upstaged by you,
yet not you alone.
Fate and Time have played such unequivocal roles, games,
whereof you are
neither culpable nor capable.

But these I cannot speak of
for you know them,
yet  disown them
and I am bound in the yoke
of silence
submissive maid.
Words: sufficiently staid.
Vulcan, He of rejection with Strength and Forcehas wrapped my arms with chains.            Restraint has driven an iron wedge of indifference between us now,  through this breast, placing a girdle of frigidityround these hips, and encircling these feet with fetters of brass to weight me, nay, castrate me...
I am eternally boundto this life time without lifelinethis interminable heavinessthis emptiness without you...  BjR  11 December '09  Then, after insulting him, the gods leave Prometheus thus imprisoned, alone with his pain.

Dear Bonita,

A very very good poem. What dash: games whereof you are neither culpable nor capable Fate has driven an iron wedge of indifference between us now through this breast but these I cannot speak of for you know them and you wish no knowledge of them and I am bound in the yoke of silence Wonderful.
