Evil Begets Evil

When darkness falls around you
and you can actually feel the dark,
just as you can feel the shining sun
while walking through the park.

Surrounded by intentions
that always seem to fade,
the same way that promises do
when they're half-heartedly made.

The pathway up to Heaven
is said to be paved with these,
good intentions make up the road
that are lined with "promise trees".

Integrity has been replaced
by scandalistic acts,
and bearing falsehoods has a way
of confusing all the facts !

The people that you used to trust
are changing all their spots,
making it more difficult
to connect the dot to dots.

For evil begets evil
and if condoned by one, or two...
it will quickly poison everything
and make this story, true !

Imagine with me, if you will
the stench that evil brings,
and how it will erase the good
in people, and in things;

and while you're in the process
think of all the good you've had,
and watch your future's dissipate
when "good's" replaced.....by "bad"!
