Flying Solo

A black Ocean consumes
as it pours forth
splitting heaven,
as stars fall to comets
and vortex into my
gasping mouth,
I swallow
every last spec of light
in my world

so overwhelmed
I spew endless streams
of angered refusal
and splutter embers

as my mouth burns
in the light of ever's
I now know

to deny
from the world
the smallest scrap
of glimmers
is not to live

swimming free
from oceans
and regurgitated

Now,
I stand on
virgin beach
alone

consumed in light

What a gape-ful, swallowing black oceans

Oh I see it for me, you swallowing the black oceans, black waters in a vortex a maelstrom, swirling down your throat (clockwise in Australia, anti-clockwise in Norway)! And your mouth eclipsing the light, that is definitely an image that would make the Surrealists intrigued. Oh wow what a painting, what an allegorical fantasy, what contrasts and dramas, from the regurgitated embers to the virgin beach, its sands so white, its shells so white, its whole presence in the poem so white. You cast the silk-woven cloth of white to veil your fears and quench the fire of your fright, with such light dear Jayne, and you do this again and again and we love you for it. You white angel of fire, you living feeling of joy in strangely evocative pictures you create, that stay in our minds for ever. We love you Jayne. Ann in misty Norway. P.S. The only crit. would be that the tenses are a little bit mixed up for me!

Overwhelmed...

As I said a while ago, sometimes there is a phase or something that seems to take over the site, and everyone picks up a certain theme. I think that this theme is introspection. Looking back to see how far we have or haven't come. Wondering where we are now. Or is it just the natural thing that poets do all the time anyways? I had a little scare with my comp. the other day. I usually leave mine running, so when I went to log on, and it didn't respond, I asked If anyone had turned off my comp. Getting a negative from all, I shrugged and tried to start her up. It still would not come on, so I started panicing! When I took the cover off to look for fuses or something I might be able to see, it was full of dirt and dust! I couldn't see anything with it all buggered up like that, so I got the vaccuum out and sucked up all the dust and cleaned it out pretty good. I couldn't find any [user servicable parts], so I plugged it back in and was about to give up, when LO and behold! She came back to life! I think that it got too hot from all the dust and dirt, shut down, and needed to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset it! Yaaaaaay! I will keep an eye on the dust levels from now on. We live right on a very busy street, and get more than the usual amount of dust. I ramble! Anyways good work! ~ Gee P.S. turning comp off wouldn't hurt the unit or my electric bill either!

Flying Solo

I have been in the vortex of the black ocean for so long comets - stars sparkle like splinters - fall but are swallowed up and spat our dimmed embers of failing light - but will I ever find that virgin beach where there will be two sets of footprints walking side by side Dreaming dreams is all I have Blue just beautiful my dear lady Jayne

Look at the size of those...

Dear Jayne... you've got a big gob haven't you? More importantly you don't mind opening it and putting a black hole to shame... no x-rays escape from your gaping maw that relentlessly draws verything in to your being and soak up the bad and good things. In england you'd be called the mersey tunnel lol! For me this is death and rebirth thrown in to one... as all fades to satrt with only to open up again and spit forth its never ending cycle... excellent metaphor and literary use her! Bravo! Dale :)
