A phoenix raised
Curled nakedIn your frameYour 70 years of wrinkled growthEnfolding my sleek skinSafely enclosed withinOur laughter and love of ancient past I remembered our torrid loveYou had tiredOf lifes monotonyHungry to be desired I,Emerging, unfolding my loves experience. We were fire and flamesEngulfed in one another. From the ashesEmerged a woman,Singed Charging headlongInto the world of wife, mother, career. My fires dampened in worn out loveSmouldering inwards. By the magnitude of motherhoodI was lost to itI was lost to meTime passed, I met anotherHurting as I wasReaching for something forgotten We sojourned on parallel pathsReawakening a sense of wonderRoutes divergedWe could not travel Now you are The sediment of youthful sentimentNoble and purist thoughtI desire only the warmthOf your friendshipYour understanding Of the eternal flame of loveA phoenix raised
