in the aftermath

I can hear you
sleeping
do I want you
to wake

so many tears
falling
what was my great
mistake

loving
leaving
we’ve talked
about both

my heart is
plasma
I no longer
know

how to reach to
your heart
spark your mind
speak your soul

I cannot
imagine
me letting you
go

I can hear you
breathing
I can’t stand
the sound

of silence
in keeping
with being
alone

bitterness
passion
infected
by both

I can’t hear you
crying
what the hell
did I sow

where is your
weeping
you don't let it
go

will cracks become
valleys
shadowed once more
soul low

I think you're
awake now
I now go
to see

what may be
salvaged
I'm humbled
in grief

how about *light* instead of

how about *light* instead of *soul*... as it fits with shadow.. Good poem of honest reflection. Thank you. ~Anna "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

thanks again Anna

I tried "light" but it didn't feel like it flowed in the same rhythm. I think I'm going to try "soul low" thank you for your kind words 8) Virginia

Duh. Sometimes I can’t

Duh. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees. Soul low. PERFECT!! And Jayne, you vocalized it. ~A Don’t let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart.
