One Breath of Liberation

She was crouched
semi collapsed
no one could touch her
a fire of dignity
would raise from her feet
to lift the line of her chin
determination etches new lines
worry brought
the sweat pig headed pain
corrugating furrows

soldiering on
striking and slashing
at every obstacle

till time had no mind
for her pride
and the spectre
that dogged every fall
every twitch
each scrap of scoundrel death

then her eyes fired
when her body could not
her spirit never diminished
even as she jumped up
to brush poppies in heaven

radiant inscrutability

she was ready
for the next campaign
and leapt

----

dignity made wings
that now,
soar the stars

in one breath
liberation

Nothing like a kick ass poem

to lift the spirits hey JayC. Its actually very good although I'm not going to critique it in detail since I can see it achieved its purpose and to be frank there is not much I would suggest changing anyway. Just a small point however is that may be you should consider adding .... before "liberation" if you want to increase emphasis. Love and hugs Keith PS She was obviously a great inspiration to you and will I am sure continue to be

My condolences my dear Lady

My condolences my dear Lady Jayne. A beautiful and fitting tribute for a friend. Few of us even live in dignity.... Love, Mum "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

Lifting To Liberation

Jayne So sad this morning when we talked you tears fell words stuck in your throat of the sad loss of your dear friend but you did get to see her and she knew you were there for her in every way she knew and shared the same pain with you. But remember the laughter through your beautiful tears. Also she is released from this earthly pain as my dear bob they now in the arms of the angels and can fly with angel wings Always Maggie

liberation

Lady Jayne I hope you some restfull sleep my friend you can cry on my shoulder as long as you need my friend they may be small but they can hold all. I have been where you so many times and it does not get any easier. I too cry oceans and my tears never seem to fill them. But remember this my dear Lady Jayne as long as just one person remembers with a heart full of love then the angel you friend has turned into will glow brighter and you will know when she is near as she will brush you cheek with a gentle breeze and give you an angel kiss. Always Blue

it suddenly breaks free and flies.

Wonderfully torn and released like a beautiful coloured piece of paper caught fast on a fence, driven there by the strong winds, then as it flutters and flutters, it suddenly breaks free and flies. Beautiful Jayne with the wings of poetry. Love Ann

Dearest Jayne

This is a fierce poem just as the person in it. The language supports this ferocity throughout. 'then her eyes fired when her body could not her spirit never diminished even as she jumped up to brush poppies in heaven' I love this line. It reminds me of my mother, who died much to young. Always, Deelilah
