Coming Out
I challenged a thief, once.....and the thief back-peddled so intensely
that the wheels appeared to go backwards,
resembling that optical illusion that happens
when spoke-wheels change pace in their revolutions.
It was really something to behold!
For, he looked ridiculously guilty
as he stammered out his denial!
Guess he didn't quite think that one through.
I'm guilty of that, on occasion...
(not quite thinking things, through...that is)
But, I'm not convinced that that, diminishes a person,
just because they happened to be somewhat, distracted.
On this one instance, in my life
I had accidentally split my trouser's up the crotch;
so I began carefully keeping my legs pressed together
so tightly, that it was apparent that something had gone awry.
Then someone asked me if I were "gay"
because of my incessant posturing;
well I vehemently denied such an outrageous allegation
as I surreptitiously curtsied myself into a nearby chair.
Then my negative response to such a ludicrous idea
sent them into a sneer, "me thinks he doth protest to much !",
and with that I realized that I too, like the thief hadn't thought things through.
So, I quietly stood, backed out of the room, curtsied gracefully... and "float-waved".....bye, bye !
that the wheels appeared to go backwards,
resembling that optical illusion that happens
when spoke-wheels change pace in their revolutions.
It was really something to behold!
For, he looked ridiculously guilty
as he stammered out his denial!
Guess he didn't quite think that one through.
