Hundred dolars a plate

A hundred dollar a plate

Last evening Maxy took me

To a hundred dollars a plate dinner

All present came in black suits and tie Except Maxy and I.

As we stepped in

All eyes turned towards us

Were we at all invited?

But the gate man saluted us

As we also had paid for the visit

There was dance and sweet romance

A joker did also then did prance,

We all enjoyed what all we did eat

The hundred dollars wouldn’t say

For a weeks meal we had to pay

Just for a single meal today

But the food was delicious

Yummy cakes and pastries too

Lots of drinks were freely flowing

For extra payment yes that’s true

Maxy had no more money

So I had to chip in some

But for the hundred dollar’s worth

It was all really gleeful fun.

Thank you Max for the dinner cum dance,

Now you can come once again

For a brief, really brief

A million dollars romance

Nice. Sounds like fun.

Watch out for forced rhymes which make you sound like Yoda A joker did also then did prance, We all enjoyed what all we did eat takes away from the simple, elegant joy of the evening. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible
