In Your Life

The rain is coating
everything around you,
covering each and every single reasoning
and other such schools of thought.

The shadows are daunting
and the sun,
plays utter havoc with your eyes.

The drama is thickening
all around you,
and closing in are many fewer directions
and possibilities...

..and so, I ask of you,
"Where is your heart?",
and, "Where is the boxer in you?"

The moon is cooling
all that is about you;
and much of what it does can ease your pain,
and other citations of honor

in your life.

Dear docmaverick,

Absolutely the best thing that I recall reading from your cursor. Terrific lines, a melded whole - it bears warning and caring in the same breath. There is colour and fight, and the old favourites - sun-moon-heart - have been used in imaginative and unusual ways. This is the superb poem in your repertoire! A long time ago, it seems, I remember a bruhaha. What a long time ago indeed! Brian
