A Moment With Santa Claus

I am gazing out my window,
As the snow begin to fall,
It reminds me of a Christmas eve,
When I was very small.
It was a night just like this,
And I had left my bed,
To catch a glimpse of Santa Claus,
His reign deer,and his sled.
I had tiptoed very softly,
So I wouldn't make a sound,
 Peeked around the staircase,
Take a guess at what I found!
There under the tree, was the bike
My brother wanted so bad,
To see Santa put it there,
Really made me glad
And out of his bag came my doll,
That sang when you touched her toe,
And my sister got that little worm,
That when you squeezed him,he would glow
When Santa was finished with the tree,
he took a look around,
then he laughed his famous laugh,
It was a most joyful sound.
He really liked the gingerbread men,
I had made in school,
And he smiled at the little elves
My sister made with yarn and spool
He laughed again at the candy canes,
We had dancing along the way,
But his eyes filled up with tears
When he came to the little baby in the hay
He picked up the little figure, and held it
To his cheek, then next, much to my surprise,
Santa began to speak
He said, "little girl come to me, I want to speak to you,"
I came and looked into his beautiful face,
His eyes were sparkling blue.
He said "little girl, do you know ,
Who this precious baby is?'"
"And do you know that the glory of Christmas."
"Is not mine but completely His."
"Remember my child, he sad to me,
"No matter how many wonderful toys bring,"
"Nothing will ever compare,
to the gift of the mighty King,"
"God gave the world His only son,
because He loved us so."
Then he said he wanted to do one more thing,
Before he had to go,
This is memory I love so much,
No other is more adored,
Then the one of me and Santa,
Praying to our Lord.
Then he began to chuckle,it
made his belly shake,
Like in the story that gave him fame,
He waved goodbye and went up the chimney
As quickly as he came

BEAUTIFUL

I have to say this is a wonderful poem..touched my heart also. There is one word and it says sad instead of said. Other than that little typo I give this poem 110!!! I just loved it and thank you for sharing it. Magics02

Tantalizing. What a great read and write. You are so gentle a writer and I enjoyed this night with you. Typos, yes, nothing too dramatic. 2nd line, begins, just add an s. 8th line, Reindeer, spell check. There, don and you have yourself another wonderful write. Well done. Love Lyz. XX
