maybe it was when
just there
when your finger left the wineglass

the drops that fell
splashed lightly against my tights
coloured my white thin blouse

maybe it was bordeux
or a deep sensual rioja
je ne sais pas homme

but it was exactly when
I just breathed in
exhaled

in the eternity of waiting
before your finger reached the smile
of my lower lip

that the scent burst

Young Molly

A touch of the Angels, if only time would stand still, where the now never ventured into what was. Hold these things to your heart, then remember they, the thougt that brings pleasure can always be held in your mind. A lovely touch that is written well, Yours Ian.T

Dear Molly,

I have seen this before. And it is as good now as it was then and I was so disappointed that you took it down. Now it is here again and the world is right. Brian

Yes, I agree with Brian (though it is my first taste of this particular write), you bring such gifts to this place.. it is divine & perfect as it is... & how I love your image here too, it embodies the freedom of your lines, the unselfconscious beauty that oozes from you everywhere... you are a natural... a lovely little story you bring us to with such sensuality... as you always do. Cheers & admiration Anni~ "When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace". Thank You so very much Anni

Thank You so very much Anni for your kind words about my writing. I have not been into poetry that very long and I am still experimenting very much. I have noticed on your pictures that you are a singer and that must be a lovely thing. I have had some of my poems set to music by a american singer and musician Jim Hulseman it was the most wonderful thing to hear him sing my poetry. Are you making music for your poems ? love. o molly

Your sensuous rythem is palpable in this frozen snapshot of eternities moment. To be savored in sips after exhaling. You have done it again. Like the slow opening of a flower;revealing the inner beauty. Barry.......o...

Excellent

This is an excellent poem...delicate and finely poised on the threshold of timelessness.

This is a beautiful and evocative poem

and it is easy to picture the precise scene you portray. I particularly loved the lines: "in the eternity of waiting before your finger reached the smile of my lower lip" although I felt perhaps "anticipation" rather than "waiting" might have conveyed the feeling more precisely. The first verse I found a little difficult although i liked the deliberate pauses and the way they emphasise the importance of a specific act and moment in time. Perhaps something like: "maybe it was then that instant when your finger left the wineglass?" In the next verse I feel you should also charaterise the bordeaux as "rich" or something similar. Personally i think the rather dated slang of "I don't know man" could just be "I don't know which". So the verse might be something like: "maybe it was a rich bordeaux or a deep sensual rioja je ne sais pas quoi" Just suggestions as always. I enjoy the way you write. with best wishes Keith

Thank You so much dear

Thank You so much dear Professor for reading my poem and for your suggestions. I am always very interested in other poets ideas about my writing. Your translation of my je ne sais pas homme is a bit different to my own. I do not see it as slang at all. your suggestion : “maybe it was then that instant when your finger left the wineglass?” Is something I am going to think of because I like it. Thank You again . love. o molly

Hi Molly

Just as a matter of interest how would you translate "Je ne sais pas homme". I had assumed it was "I dont know 'Man'"...i.e. 'Man' in its colloquial street "you cant be serious Man" sense. If it had been implying "i dont understand man" then it should perhaps have been "Je ne connais pas homme". Its a great poem and this small part just doesn't work for me. Just my view and predisposition I guess. Best wishes Keith

Dear poetess,

you have wrought magic here. Capturing a moment in just a few words, making it stretch into eternity for the reader. Drew me in and refused to let me go. Love, ~Nina

A sublime snapshot of sensuality...

Molly... you have filled in and coloured the world with a million hues of red! With crimson wines, burgandy tights, cherry lips, vemillion words and rosey feelings! You have finely crafted a beautiful poem and panted a such a wonderful portrait of events here of which you have masterfully unfolded in stuttered rhyme and rhythmatics that add so much flair and feeling to this poem. You have created such a magnificent scene that we can all smile too and about... waiting for those curled lips that spring out at the end like a jack in the box and plants the seed of love in your heart. Such a wonderful gift you have Molly in writing and here you have presented it to us very much gift wrapped with bows and add glitter sparkle... and you unwrap it to find a full bodied wine with fruity flavour and sparkling spirit. Simply mavellous Molly! Dale :)
