you, uncradled

society is a beautiful woman
who will fuck you once.

you will go at it for hours
and only know her first name.
she will leave your sweaty sheets
before morning light.

your encounter will feel
as if it were the only
perfect moment
you could hope for,

and you will look for her
and starve for recognition in those you pass
on the street
clomping past you with their high heels
and shopping bags.

you will look for her,
and there will be nothing left
except obsession and the perfected harmony
of your sense of loss

society is a sculpted man
you suspect is jamming syringes full of steroids.
you want to know him.

he will smile wide and know your story
you will try to cage part of that
encounter, burn with the same strength

your wife knows him,
perhaps too well,
you are too blessed, too fortunate
to ask questions

Wonderful, outstanding poem

Wonderful, outstanding poem white tea. But then, I've always been a voyeur and your number one fan. ~A "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

Excellent piece

And also dead on philosophically, as far as your assessment of the empty thrills and absurd honor values of a society without any constants but materialism and a certain meaningless pecking order which attempts to transform each individual's efforts to null--what I loved about the poem was your repetition (your encounter will feel/you will go at it for hours/you will look for her) all leading up that final fuck over, literally and figuratively, that contemporary society will inevitably deliver. I'd like to see that repetition more in your poems, as I can already see it lends a power to it that is unusual. Great job! GB

Platter glass

I find the mall most altruistic we are flocks flightless in our stretch and rest preening feathers and sipping beverage nibbling meats and salads the aviary glass above winks the blue we've forgotten and polished stone reflects the tone your works amaze me always.........

Maybe?

Ann of Norway Oh that woman, she is on my mind, she haunts the street corners and sounds her stiletto music that echoes in my groins, whereas I am a mere man to her, a happening that passed in the night, another bloke of no importance, save the earning of a dime or two. I am left thinking of her, but then there are other staccato sounds coming my way, no doubt I will find another woman with the same kind of ..... and then I shall be happy again. Maybe? Clever White tea. Yours Ann
