Something for the weekend
We’re preparing the house for invasionThey’ll be here pretty soon, there’s no doubtThe valuable things, have been tucked awaySome items, sans worth, we’ve left out There are locks on all of the cupboardsThe breakable pieces are hiddenTo stop those inquisitive handsSome rooms, will now be, forbidden With toddlers about to arriveFor a weekend of laughter and frolicsIf these grand parents hope to surviveThey will need to become alcoholics But, we sit and drink tea in the parlourIt passes the time while we’re waitingTea helps to quell, the nerves that you feelWhen you’re infanticipating
