TO A SOLDIER

A soldier, forever we salute them,
For they're our brethren, our friend
Thank you for all you do and endure
Fight for what's right,  this is for sure

We pray the Lord to protect you,
For all you strive and do
The march of your shoes
To fight for what you choose

No praise, no higher, for your cause
For your service, I shall pause
Reflection of a soldier so true to form.
For he and she, the uniform is worn
,
I'm with you, beside you from far away.
I love you dearly in my own special way
I pray for you dear soldier wherever you are
For all you do, you're our bright stars

I pray the Lord to keep you safe
To take you home to your beautiful place
I know you've earned all of your stripes
Just knowing your're giving us a better life.

Thank you is not enough, to say this way
Just so you know soldier, I love you every day

Very nicely put together!

It does my old heart good to see someone of a younger age show a little common sense and respect for people other than themselves! So many young people are reluctant to look anywhere but the mirror, the T.V., or their Video game! Thank you for caring and thank you for sharing!

Me young I wish

Thank you as I am 52 years old young, Lol... You know I love our country and I love all the soldiers passed and serving. I have many family members in the service and my father my hero, all he endured in the Korean War and the stories he shares with our family. He wears his hat proudly and yes I am appalled at peoples comments in diregard for our soldiers but I also know that everyone has a right and an opinion, no matter how great or how small. We can not disturb our thoughts or impose our feelings on this issue with non-beleivers or non-supporters. We just stick to what is in our heart and pass the word the best we can, not expecting this whole world to agree with ourselves. Good day fellow comrade and kudos to you for making your beautiful observations and comments and thank you also for calling me a youngster. If I could only go back to being young and know the things I know now, for I would not have had the exeriences of life as I did and all it encompasses. Talk to you later Lonnie. This may be your challenge to write Kal

This poem is about our soldiers and any soldier of the enemy. Maybe you could write one of which you speak, Of course I can not write your words only you can do that, This is for our American soldiers here in the USA that are endlessly fighting an endless war. I know many soldiers out there from the states and this is for them. This is not a poem to be debated either as I have alot of people I know who are out there on the battlefield. I am fine if you did not like it and the comment about God on his or her side was not necessary, but you say what ever you wish on it. War has been going on since the beginning of time. We all know that, can we stop it, probably not but as a writer I write my subjects that are not always challenging but on how I feel and what I see in life and for this the soldier is a much appreciated fellowman or fellowwoman I show high respect for irregardless of how anyone else feels towards them. Even the ones that are here doing their job in the states protecting us from terrorist here. This is not a subject to start a war over is it, if so you will not get much more response from me on it. I have respect for our military people. Thanks for the read however you put it, I am fine with your opinions, and I do not have to agree. Mona Learn to live, learn to forgive. Life is too short.
