Two Poems of November 22nd

November 22nd

Kennedy was murdered
by who knows who
in conspiracy theory
even if nothing will change
a nation in mourning

history's cortege
is not noble
on the back of a riderless horse

you had to be there
when the details of blood was in black and white
and we grew up
much too soon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the mirror lies abandoned
the mirror lies abandoned
in deep sleep, deep the well
tell me, who awakens?
what words shall we pull
from the bottom of our hearts,
the pit of our emotions
and the single eye of devotion?
how shall we face the tormentor
who wills what is, who breaks
down the will into abandon and surrender?
does the sky fit the earth, does the
moon touch the finger
pointing?
will the mountain mist rain on the
yellow desert flower? will the song
of the meadow lark awaken the
lotus blossom?
how many years, oh Lord, must I
live without lasting peace?
the mirror speaks.
Dearest Jayne, your
Dearest Jayne, your generation, my grandson's generation have grown up with this. But I lived in a time before...before assassinations were replayed to the point that we can become even more numb to death and destruction, to the insanity of the individual or the insanity of a world gone mad where war is the only solution. So be it. Mom "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha
Kennedy Poem
I loved the reflection of the news in black and white....a good poem... I remember the days when you had a colour cancel button.....on colour tvs....now we see it all in the colours of war and bloodshed. They are now techologically advanced to put black and white war filming of actual war coverage into colour.....now it`s real and biting.
Dear Kailashana
Lovely words you have written. Yes the death of Kennedy shook and shocked the world. You have written a heart felt poem. Well done. I enjoyed the second, although it felt sad, but you are a very deep writer, you write of life in such a way that it keeps the reader transfixed until the end. Enjoyed. Love Lyz. XX
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Mirror, mirror on the wall what is the mystery of it all where do we look which way do we turn to finally confirm our beliefs our grief's our fears through the years with the oceans of tears when its all over soon at the rising of the moon and we go just so into our own oblivion. "in deep sleep, deep the well tell me, who awakens?"..................... wonderful provocative tale "does the sky fit the earth,"............... love this. "will the mountain mist rain on the
yellow desert flower? will the song
 of the meadow lark awaken the
lotus blossom?" ................................beautiful thoughts. Man's reality shaken at such thoughts. Anna dear sister. Ann.
