To Lady Monroe

Oh beautiful lady of the west

In your laps agonies rest

Once in your eyes the bloody tears

That flew over the land for years

Stench of rot in the air

Inviting crows and vultures to glare

To pounce and rip the cadaver

That fell from the smoking pipes that clapper

Neighbors at your call

A home for your scattered troop

To regroup and prevent your fall

A course taken to recoup

Welcome home to the returnees

The beautiful lady on her knees

Wishing them a good stay

As there will be no fray
