the beasts of lavender

The Self
is so selfless
that it allows
itself
to be divided
into awareness
ad infinitum.

Amongst white clouds,
the endless dance of two rivers
begins

Eros points my breasts
licks his tongue
sends a warm lavender wind
to remind me

Its journeys sent its scent far and wide,

The colour of your aura was lavender and in its journeys sent its scent far and wide, while transforming you as you flew through the barrier between the here and the there and back again. Strange directive body part to use for that but... it seems they are in fashion at the present time!! Ann your sister in crime.

Someone asked me if it

Someone asked me if it should be titled Breasts of lavender? I was laughing... the mind does want to correct its seeming error. beauty and the beast... chuckles, Anna "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

Dear Anna

I got out my trusty dictionary and consulted it. This is what it has to say about lavender: lav·en·der [lávv?nd?r] noun 1.PLANTS fragrant plant: a plant that has clusters of fragrant bluish-purple flowers that produce a fragrant oil. Latin name: Lavendula officinalis 2.HOUSEHOLD flowers and leaves: the dried flowers and leaves of the lavender plant used to perfume clothes and linen 3.COLORS pale purple color: a pale purple color tinged with blue adjective COLORS pale purple: of a pale purple color tinged with blue [14th century. Via Anglo-Norman lavendre, from medieval Latin lavendula, of uncertain origin: perhaps formed from lividus, “bluish, livid.” Loved the poem, wish it were spring. Always, Cat

Dear Kailashana

Dear Kailashana another lovely poem, everybody seems to love your work, if a little short this one, but I guess that's how the magic flows. I have a new one out, (shameless promoter) I don't know what the title should be. Weird when I first read the poem here I thought of a fabric rather than a colour purple or deep blue, of course that doesn't figure in reality, unless you think of the kiss of the wind as a physical element, or the heather on the breeze in spring in some Scottish glen. Still not to pick the work apart. I love your work it both transcends and encapsulates reason. Wasn't entirely sure of the title, cryptic, but I love cryptic. The word beast seemed weird. Just an opinion. Love John.

Thank you John. What can we

Thank you John. What can we do but to surrender to the magic that is life as it pours into us... into words? Love, Anna "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

I see this poem as the clash

I see this poem as the clash of the phisical, and the spiritual realities contained in the self. The body in a conflict with the spiritual aspirations is suggested by the title.Endless dance suggests a less conflicting position of this division as does two rivers. The poems voice submits to the pleasures of eros in a seeming equilibreum of these forces with an understanding of the balances in these two seemingly divergent aspects of human nature. Please elaborate and expand on this. I loved the poem though I thought it a tad incomplete as you didn't expound but only hinted at the spiritual contrast. A beautifly constucted poem that says so much with brevity. As intoxicating as a kiss..Love and an icecream cone in your favorite flavor and quantity. Love and admiration .Barry......o...

The only error humanity has

The only error humanity has ever conceived is to separate spirituality from physicality.... Life is erotic, sensuousness. It is absolute palpable essence, feeling and its awareness. It's life, presence in the present. It feels much like love, joy and bliss. ~A "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha

Hi

What a lovely thought, a lavender scented breeze caressing the body. Touch of erotica, lol, no, just a beautiful piece of writing. Notice how the beginning of the poem now stands behind, lol. I can smell it now, lol. Love Lyz. XX
