Umbrellas

I’m learning how to flyMy Mummy says I’ll be outstandingShe say’s I need to do a littlePractice on my landingShe said to stay low levelAnd to use my common senseSo I’m practising by jumpingWith umbrellas, off the fence © John W Fenn 11-11-2009

Thanks Richard, I saw some

Thanks Richard, I saw some kids last week jumping off a wall using what looked like a sheet as a parachute, it reminded me of when I was about 6 and jumping off the fence with mums umbrella, when the men turned up to paint the house they erected a scaffold, let me tell you that the umbrella is even less effective at twenty feet than it is at six. I’m smiling because I

I'm smiling because I think every child (especially little boys) pretend they're caped crusaders, and jump off something or another... I remember catching Alex at the age of 5 or 6 jumping off the garage in the "Condor Man" cape his dad made for him. Nearly gave me a heart attack, but thanks for the memory, anyway. ;-) I thought I left a comment at one of your other poems. As always, I do read & enjoy them all, even if I'm neglectful in pressing the submit button. Much enjoying your flavour here at Neopoet. ~A p.s. Do you have a book of these divine Shazbaticks or Shazbaticsims...? "...when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." ~ Buddha
