Wave Lights

Wave Lights

Quiet hushed the sounds of spring at sunset
as stars began to twinkle midnight sky
and cricket melody would soon beget
a tender dance beneath the full moon's sigh.
          Soft twinkling sounds that one cannot forget,
          nor ever in good company deny,
          will build as maestro for a rippled pond
          to lead an orchestra with whittled wand.

Wave lights found their tender gentle meaning
within the care of moon glow in the night.
Joyful dance with willow leaves left leaning
found melody within each peaked delight.
          Wavelets bounced, returned, and sang careening
          with all life's energy to hold them tight,
          and through the night filled up by joy and song
          these burbles were quite glad to sing along.

Rise of morning glows over the skyline
as purples fade to yellow rising tones.
Maestro bids adieu without a byline;
with tap of wrist, the orchestra postpones.
          As dance of glimmered currents fold, resign;
          their swirling fades with light to the unknown.
          Waters form a wink with innuendo;
          ripples feign retreat in grand crescendo.
