Silent Sparrows
Silent Sparrows
Eyes watched the skewed
inviting glance -
emotion mocked
the words
"small chance."
A tilted face
half bitten nails
petulance.
And I
so silenced
stood there still
blatant folly
of my will that felt
divine
yet secondary -
a pale
half empty bitten cherry.
But of free will?
(I pondered this)
the might, the wear
the token kiss in time
while clocks ticked fast
through years
as silent sparrows
shifted gears -
and remembered
blatant hiss
of promised care
that missed the wish.
Eyes watched the skewed
inviting glance -
emotion mocked
the words
"small chance."
A tilted face
half bitten nails
petulance.
And I
so silenced
stood there still
blatant folly
of my will that felt
divine
yet secondary -
a pale
half empty bitten cherry.
But of free will?
(I pondered this)
the might, the wear
the token kiss in time
while clocks ticked fast
through years
as silent sparrows
shifted gears -
and remembered
blatant hiss
of promised care
that missed the wish.
