If

If I had the power
for even just awhile
I'd make all roses bloom
just to see you smile

And to answer you your question
your question of "why I?"
your eyes are just too beautiful
to ever let them cry

If I ruled a kingdom
on a hill my throne is seen
I'd step down from my seat
and claim you as my queen

And if we were in Heaven
and if God didn't care
I'd claim you a rainbow
to build your throne there

If I could reach the heavens
and stretch to touch the moon
I'd bestow on it your portrait
and gaze at it from my room

It would only take a moment
a moment to shock a trance
when the world sees the moon that night
then all would find romance

If I could speak to father time
and make to him a plea
I'd ask for more life with you
and beg for eternity

And if somehow he'd tell me "no
"all men must die, you see?"
then I'd ask, "then grant me ease,
let the first you take be me."

Such a world I would create
but I am just a man
a mortal being that hurts, that bleeds
please do understand

I have no powers, I am but me
if broken, I fall apart
but understand that the world described
is a world within my heart

Dear Voice

You are not broken, you have just reached out from flow divine and touched a mind .... mine ... beautifully .. one little quibble though ? And if we were in Heaven and if God didn’t care I’d claim you [a] rainbow [to] build your throne there has much better flow for me but other than that small tweak I love it all .. and thats just a suggestion I am not always right ... lol love and hugs Jayne

Thank you

I like the adjustment. I agree, it does flow a little better. I appreciate your comment. The Voice
