Mother Nature's Spell
From the horizon I see an angel creeping
As she gracefully coats the ground
Trailing her veil, whilst gently sweeping
Her stunning and striking snow around.
Leaving behind her pure brilliant white sheet
Coating the city in a layer of grace
As children wake up to a marvellous treat
I’m excited as snow lands on my face.
Down from the sky more snowflakes fall
All part of Mother Nature’s spell
In this desert of white I feel so small
Silence only broken by the old church bell.
As I wade my way to work, slipping as I rush
I realise that it will all soon go away
As beauty is reduced to slush
And I’m left longing for another snowy day.
As she gracefully coats the ground
Trailing her veil, whilst gently sweeping
Her stunning and striking snow around.
Leaving behind her pure brilliant white sheet
Coating the city in a layer of grace
As children wake up to a marvellous treat
I’m excited as snow lands on my face.
Down from the sky more snowflakes fall
All part of Mother Nature’s spell
In this desert of white I feel so small
Silence only broken by the old church bell.
As I wade my way to work, slipping as I rush
I realise that it will all soon go away
As beauty is reduced to slush
And I’m left longing for another snowy day.
