return to me in my own blood

Part I

Universal Betrayal

The universe betrayed me
brought me to my knees again
opened the door to a reality
I had never seen before
and as the light was shining through
the cracks in my Soul,
I was obliterated in one wistful cobweb, gleaming
here
like a jewelfish hanging on a lonely cross
In the cold-night desert wind;
I heard the songs of mirrors,
thousands of millions of pieces of Light
filtered through me
reflected a distant memory washed upon an
ungodly shore
as snails and long-legged spiders wandered by,
Lost

I am emptiness
I reign Supreme
I am Love
all but forsaken
abandoned in an ancient wellspring,
I call forth the hymns of water
in the silence of body prayers;

I was once loved unto Eternity,

Part 2

Return To Me In My Own Blood

I wear my red shoes today,
the ones where my toes bled through
when I danced and danced and danced
until I collapsed into a hunger
I had not known before

I am ruined
I am mishapen and my words often
follow me
in the trail of the blood I leave behind.

I need Your Love

Part 3

In The Distance of Flowers

In the sanctity of trees
deep in the forest of a sacred grove,
the words of men speaking
are as bees buzzing in the
distance of flowers,
gathering
words for poems,
sounds crashing
bear the heart of stones
as they fall like the leaves of autumn,
like the passion of crimson
and the finality of yellow,
descending into the thick unmarked grave of earth,
decaying
Into the scent of Spring,
like a vigilant doe and speckled fawn,
captured in the hunter's gaze

And I, the Poet, must ask forgiveness
from the
shadows of the hungry sun,
I vow I shall never again look to the melancholy of
stars as
they fade into the reticence of daybreak,
I will honour You, my Beloved
in the ways You appear in the longing of my heart,
when the moonlight breaks
the harmony of the sea and as the sea
surges into my hands,

I shall write no more of Love.

This is a poem of magic and enchantment

Of forests and groves which along with pools and rivers and seas and standing stones are the magic places our ancetstors gathered to worship ancient gods half remembered still dreamed of. This is your best work so far. I was a little unsure at first of the second part: "I wear my red shoes today, the ones where my toes bled through..." No question of your literary prowess, just that this stanza somehow stepped away slightly out of synchronicity with the rest of the work. Otherwise I loved this poem. Keep them coming My favourite lines were: "Thousands of millions of pieces of light filtered through me reflected a distant memory washed upon an ungodly shore as snails and long-legged spiders wandered by lost..." Made me think of Clive Barker's Sea of Quiddity. Respects Dalton.

Part 3

Just as sad and lonely as the others but there is a spark in each and it brings the shine of beauty out, especially with the use of your words. I enjoyed the lot. It feels weird to enjoy the sorrow of someone elses sad memories etc, it is always so hard to comment. Love to you and yours, best wishes as well, take care. And please, write more of love and anything that feels right. Love from Lyz. XX
