Witches Ball

Every Halloween when the moon is shinning bright
The witches have a Ball  and it last throughout the night
It is the event of the year, every hag will be there
It is fun and it is trendy if you enjoy a good scare
The punch is made of bats blood,The snacks are pickled toads
If you are into revolting food, come cuz they have loads
They dance, dance and dance, to the Werewolf Rock band
They always pick them to play, because they are the best in all the land
Their dates are usually mummies because they never talk
They do not like men with opinions, to them they can take a walk
Their perfume is made of rotten cabbage, they love to smell real bad
They love to make people vomit, it makes their hearts all glad
And before the night is over, they have to pick their queen
She must be the ugliest witch the world has ever seen
When she is finally chosen she wears a crown made with bones
The zombies come to serenade her with their mournful sounding groans
It really is alot of fun they would love it if you came
If you do i promise you you will never be the same
Just think of the stories to tell and the dreams that you can weave
When all your loved ones hear what you did on all Hallows Eve!

OOOO the owls are hooting, shudder in the dark

BOOO as you have painted a poem of Draculean madness and take us on the romp of fun and devilment that Hallooween sends us all into, the pure madness of the carnival, the celebration of the dying sun's fire lit up in pumpkins and flares, witches and black black cauldrons of toads legs and snakes; oo the stench of it, the peculiar joy of the fright of it, and the sheer theatrical fun of it all is worth the fuss of it. At the Norsk Kindergarten the children would arrive dressed ready in their costumes then we would sing in each one in turn and all comment about their clothes and how good they were, singing them a personal song. Then there was the "Slä katten ut av sekken" or "Slay the cat out of the bag" the smallest children first took a huge stick and whammed it against the hanging sack of tough paper, then the others each in turn would whack it until one of them finally made a hole in it and out came a waterfall of sweets and goodies, chaotic joy!! But the tale of hitting the cat was once a fact, a real live cat! Brrrr! Sausages and potato pancakes, or bread rolls was always the popular food and all were in high spirits. Wonderful conglomeration of fitting words and romping rhythm that drives one along in your poem Greeneyes well done, Love Ann of Norway

My Son

My son loved this one. I read it to him this morning and he has already drawn a picture to go with it. Can he read it out in his class at school...they are having a special Halloween school day on Monday where they are all going to dress up in Halloween outfits. I loved it too, great flow and exquisite rhyme. Good job, HS & Oliver. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "With all that I am and all that I could be, I walk this earth and yet nobody sees me".

Dear Elizabeth

Great imagery here. This is one party I would love to attend, but I don't think I would eat or drink there. What a wonderful imagination you have. I hope that all is well with you and your loved ones. Always, Cat
