Dancing Swirl
Dancing Swirl
I knew your smile was there.
In thirty minutes
you found freedom
as you read my words
and I grinned
blushing in the cool air with quiet criticism.
You sanded tar from beneath your feet
and walked through
my flightless passages as if
you truly knew me;
and I liked that you saw this flame
a dancing swirl
of erotic energy
just waiting
for you
to caress its embers.
I knew the reality of it -
black words on white pages
time slipping between
provocative messages and daylight
but still, I wanted it.
I could be somewhat better
in those words,
where age didn't have lines
and curves were not
so round.
I knew your smile was there.
In thirty minutes
you found freedom
as you read my words
and I grinned
blushing in the cool air with quiet criticism.
You sanded tar from beneath your feet
and walked through
my flightless passages as if
you truly knew me;
and I liked that you saw this flame
a dancing swirl
of erotic energy
just waiting
for you
to caress its embers.
I knew the reality of it -
black words on white pages
time slipping between
provocative messages and daylight
but still, I wanted it.
I could be somewhat better
in those words,
where age didn't have lines
and curves were not
so round.
