Green to Glass

Cleaning the green
that lines the mold
making it smoother
and softer to hold

Painting a flower
purple and blue,
shaping the leaves
veins running through

The curve of a stem
started to form
and fibrils of petals
sway to a storm

Painting the glaze
the image fogs fast,
making a vase
in time to be passed

And finally on
the bottom side,
I sign my name
and date the time

Ah was drawn in by the title

Wasn't too sure what to expect with the title and also with some of your recent writes. I recognised instantly the lovely abstract, almost dreamy portrait of the ceramicist. The words used as simple and direct nothing magical in the individual words but somehow they capture more than a craft, they capture a mood, a confidence when put in this soft even rhythm. I didn't expect to taken in by this one but somehow I have. Well done Jayne. Many Hugs Seabhac

Grass to Green

Jayne How very droll my friend But very apt Ha! I love the picture it is me in my secret grotto but not much light gets in to disturb my Blues and Greens. As an artist I can see the flower before you this living colour with life flowing through it veins so fine as it awakens and opens to its full beauty before you create the image onto you fine green glaze vase. Beautiful always Electric Blue

Dearest Jayne, does the title refer to "greenware?" I loved this simple write. These are the lines that made it for me: Painting the glaze the image fogs fast, making a vase in time to be passed And finally on the bottom side, I sign my name and date the time Love, Cat

Dear Ziggy

It really is a wonderful art and i find it soothing, and relaxing when my children where small, I had four under five at one stage, I decided I needed to do something other than music at night to relax I took up ceramics and potting ... and never looked back though at the moment I am waiting to feel a bit better and get back to it ... love and hugs Jayne x x x

the

reason i always anticipate your poetry so much is that you have the decadent, ethereal flavor that is unmistakably your own:Painting the glaze/the image fogs fast/making a vase/in time to be passed.." i know i'm guilty of namedropping often, but this reminded me baudelaire's "flowers of evil" for a moment and trust me, that's a compliment! lol. a fun, excellent job once again! This is absolutely lovely, superbly, delicately simple

This is absolutely lovely, superbly, delicately simple in the way that the Japanese Haïku are simply stating an action, or object, so beautifully, so succinctly, I love this dear Jayne, your hand has crafted another gem for our perusal and we glow with the flow of it. Love as aye Ann of Norway.

I will blow the weather away Jayne

I will blow it away and send you my joy on seeing things so beautiful today, where the frost had touched the spiders webs, and made of them fairy palaces and hanging hammocks among the firs, the pale grey veil over the Autumn coloured trees made a delicate beauty, the spent leaves in front hanging limply, yet also decorative in their disarray. The lake opaque glass with frozen water-lily pads and the fingers of the nearby birch twigs like fairy fingers whitened with frost crystals, doing their dance to Winter, who's gentle breezes were become icy, making our cheeks pink and our fingers grip harder in the gloves we wore. The grasses were unspeakably lovely, hanging their spent seed heads, white silhouettes against the russet of bracken and the ever present dark green-grey veiled firs and pines in the background. Yes this should cheer your heart, even though I can do nothing for your sensations of feeling under the weather dear Jayne, with love as always from Ann.
