SECOND SEDUCTIONS

"A veil of sadnessconceals her eyesshe averts his gaze, integrity doesn't lie.  Retreating into silenceshe  hopes to hide. He exaggerates his charms -attempts to restore lost pride. Ended engagementsare harder for onesomeone stays behindthe other, chooses to run. Someday they return perchance to see,if the rejected party - awaits a new entreaty. Most grievious of allis their intentional forray to seduce the lover again, only to stage another get-way. Second seductionsre-pierce broken hearts -bleeding old wounds, excoriating healed scars."  BjR  October 28, '09

I take that

as a well intended rap over the knuckles and yield to the discipline! I guess my motivation in this one is more about the 'Psychology of second seduction" than a good scripted piece, so I hear where you're coming from... ;) Thanks for your well-drafted critique - you put me to shame sometimes, but only sometimes! lol Boni

I think we are very similar! You have difficulty cracking the whip! That is what I think you're referring to and as Theo says, this piece "sucks" in common parlance. As I said to Brian on another commentary, my poems are manichean at times, and often just posted as a journal entry of sorts. Hence this lousy piece - which you shouldn't have paid too much mind too. You guys really amuse me - you can sniff out a dude from a continent away! :) Love ya anyway! lol Take good care! Boni

Devotion and pain

Depending on how a relationship ends (context, events, etc), digging into our is painful... Second seductions are for sadists or ones who are not affraid to seek the truth... Only time and understanding can truly heal your emotional scars.. To feel at ease with yourself.. I believe it's still possible to fall in love again with the same person, considering how life changes us, we might as well say that we're different persons when we meet again... I enjoyed your poem, made me think ! :) Gregg

Hi Gregg!

Nice to meet you - where already on the 'same side'... So glad you liked this - because, despite all my self-recriminations - everything we write comes from within. I'm most appreciative of your sensitivity around these issues and yes! I do believe one can re-engage with someone - after the fact... almost like "It aint over, till it's over". THat is more the case when you're the one left standing, by the other, who went away! THanks for stopping by! Boni
