to dance with me

a falling leaf
plucks
the lyre
hidden deep in the Autumn woods
its reverberation I hear
everywhere,
my soul is touched
with the Eucharistic light of awareness,
filtering through the rainbow canopy of trees

for this is my body
and I am alone;
tho I hunger for the
words that make you flesh
tho I drift off into breath
and bone and fantasy,

and now, when the inside of my
skull is filled with little candles
of devotion burning through the
wonder of a holy amazement,
I need the wisdom of Solomon
to sing in L. Cohen's baritone,
to dance with me
a thousand kisses deep.

Ahh, but I am a mere word

Ahh, but I am a mere word and music slut! My Shams is forever morphing, one day he is a 75 yr old Canadian on his knees, another he is Welsh poet bringing me stories to snack on, one day he is a German Zen master who dies like Zhivago, another he is the red devil from Machu Picchu. :-) And, yes, I think hearing my hero, live, will have a lasting impression on this persona traveling through cyberspace. He does have THE BEST baritone ...

He does have THE BEST baritone ... Such a beautiful work filled with imagery. It seems you have quite a knack for beautiful pictures in words. My favorite line is: "a falling leaf plucks the lyre hidden deep in the autumn woods" I wanted to be in those woods. Perfect seasonal piece that impresses and captivates. This one has almost a touch of religious zeal as well as being hypnotic at the same time. OK i could perhaps tweak it structurally and add some of that boring punctuation stuff...and maybe write "thousand" rather than use digits but that is not your style lol. Keep on dancing..Keith

Ahhhh…..the 15 seconds of

Ahhhh.....the 15 seconds of fame! Everytime I am notified of being lit, I venture into another's Light. (Congrats Cat!) Maybe one day mayhaps I'll catch myself being there. Hugs my Jaughter... Leonard Cohen

This isn't the first write of yours that has a mention of Leonard Cohen. I have never really listened to him, so I got hold of a greatest hits album. What a superb song writer, I can't stop playing his CD now. Thank you for helping me to discover such a wonderful artist. Simply magical dear Anna on your falling leaf you play the lyre and dancing with its vivid coloured flare you dare defy the canopy of green, the dream of bones of fantasy and oh wow:- "when the inside of my 
skull is filled with little candles 
of devotion burning through the 
wonder of a holy amazement, " Blows my brains! Wonderful, just wonderful dear sister. I do agree : " a thousand kisses: deep instead of 1000... "Ahhhh…..the 15 seconds of fame! Everytime I am notified of being lit, I venture into another’s Light. Anna." This too was a specially modest way of saying it! Love a thousand times over to you dearest Anna of the dancing leaves.
