The Heart-Cursing Chair
It began playing on my sympathy
then started playing with my head,
the curse started ever so subtly
but I know it wanted me, dead.
Because things were looking grim, there
as the curse brought about it's gloom,
it seems to target the owners of the chair
with the "host" being the living room.
An unsettling did occur
for that was the chair's history,
it claimed two that couldn't endure
and 'twas trying hard for three !
Several heart-attacks, two deaths,
my episode, generous and tame,
and the two that took their last breaths
were sitting like me, all the same.
Armed with a magical power
that a wizard gave to me,
within three weeks, right to the hour
I was heart-cursing chair, free !
For who should suddenly arrive
but, a gentle-hearted faerie,
she was known to all alive
as Faerie Queen Terry.
Her companion, a kindly ol' hobbit
Sir Codger, his official title,
had both brought me a new place to sit
during times when I'm feeling idle !
So, I thank the Queen Faerie and Codge
for breaking the chair's evil curse,
had that chair ended up in some garage
I could've been reclining in the back of some hearse !
then started playing with my head,
the curse started ever so subtly
but I know it wanted me, dead.
Because things were looking grim, there
as the curse brought about it's gloom,
it seems to target the owners of the chair
with the "host" being the living room.
