Closed Eyes

His eyes see better close,
Not the life he would have chose,
And yet he deals anyway,
Looking forward to better days.

He has danced the dance with misery,
Played games of malice with anxiety,
Exhausted from all this foolishness,
He still holds on to a foolish wish.

A life beyond the one he lives,
Where the rich beg and beggars give,
His dreams will become reality,
A place where only closed eyes can see.

The truth makes no room for a lie,
With no room to breathe, it’ll surely die,
The sun comes out to lead him in,
He welcomes it as this new era begins.

His eyes see better closed than yours,
He knows the contents behind closed doors,
No more wondering and no more fear,
At last he’s freed and his conscience clear.

hello again

In this line: He still holds on to a foolish wish. why not use, stupid, crazy, unwise or reckless, instead of foolish, which is so much like foolishness? I think it would sound better. Hope I have helped. Always, Cat
