Our balcony

The universe's most delicate brush
has made the bashful horizon blush
we breathe dusky sky
mingled with illusions forlorn

squareheaded fate never provided a straight line
your life has not been a stroll, neither has mine
we fell so hard some sundowns
darkness framed each new morn

and yet, the rosy clouds that dot the autumn eve
paint aquarels of hope on a canvas of relief
we may just make it through this night
and rise reborn

had a balcony once

sometimes for some (me) the transverse from dark to light is long and fraught with thought that creep like cold and are relieved by radiator heat or the comfort of love close at hand and intimate sometimes a cup of tea of a finger of what poison soothes I love the mornings walking to work under streetlights and then the lights go out and the sunrise is just there burning behind the clouds like summer dusk This poem has brought this forward and is a fine read Thank You Ink Dragon

Dear Ink-Dragon:

This is quite an intuitive write! I see it as a poem of hope, awaiting the rebirth of new thought-forms, a sure release, a new outcome on the well known night of the soul. Great poem, I like it! Sincerely, Hugo

Hugo,

yes, intuitive is the word here. Sometimes an evening sky can evoke quite a lot of thought and emotion. Yours, ~Nina

Dear Nina

You write with a passionate nature and it is fresh and thought provoking. The images you have shared in this poem have given the reader a shared response and that is wonderful. Now for my two bobs worth, lol. I enjoyed this and yes, I too have sat on our, verandah, and watched the heavens pass by with a peace in my heart, so I am going to take this as a peaceful write. Glad of no writers block. Lol. Very good. Love Lyz, XX

Always Intriguing

You have a special way of beginning and ending your pieces. You always do that with touch of éclat. Your ability to draw from nature to weave your lines put you in a class of your own. You treated the theme of hope so well and beautiful. Forever let your ink flow! Yours, Sinnbadd

this

has a baroque musicality to it which one would be hard pressed to find in most of the neo-formalist drivel which is published and celebrated in the contemporary poetry world. you have a perfect line here: "paint aquarels of hope on a canvas of relief." that line blew me away. right there. i rarely give out a full four stars, but this one deserves it. congrats. I know the feeling; hanging

I know the feeling; hanging by thread beneath life's cruel hand. I wish a beautiful sunrise to grace each day with perseverance. ken

Dear all,

thank you so much for your comments, it was a really nice surprise to come home after a busy weekend workshop and find all your kind words. I should go away for a weekend more often if my poems make it to spotlight and get so much feedback while I'm away ;) Yours, ~Nina

Turbid waters settling gently on your balcony. If there's a cold breeze these words would be the perfect pashmina to wrap ones self with...
