Head vs heart

I find myself in a predicament
One I wish to ignore
My heart would follow you all day
My head says follow no more

Everytime that I see you
My heart says is she the one?
My head says shut up and work
Its not a time for fun

I attend our monthly sales meetings
I seem to glance over a lot
Oh head please tell my stupid heart
Keep looking and your gonna get shot

Head says collegues would have me
Lined up for a firing squad
Heart says take a chance on true love
You can always get another job!

So head and heart what say you!
Can we come to some kind of truce
I really love my job
And my neck doesn't need a noose

At last there is agreement
A peace between waring sides
The sides of my own persona
In sync like the bloody tide

The result of this poem is certain
A person you wish to pursue
You'd better be 100% sure
That person she wants is you!
