and how did you think
the light would manifest
into the worlds?

if not through your single
eye of awareness?

and how did you think
the light would shine
into all hearts
?

if not through the landscape
you speak of?

if not through your poems
sung by a river?

and how did you think
the river flows from the mountain
into the sea?

if not through the silence
that sings like a lark?

Dalton to Kailashana

if not through your poems sung by a river And how did you think the river flows from the mountain into the sea? If not through the silence that sings like a lark? Beautiful lines. Yes the first music came not from hand and tongue alone but from the hand and tongue of the earth. Beautiful thankyou. Dalton.

I once took my closest

I once took my closest friends to see The Double Life of Veronique when it played at the Cleveland Cinematheque (I had seen it a few years before) and no one understood what I saw, heard what I heard. I now know poets do. ~A I have a funny story about KK's Decalogue. There are no strangers in Paradise.

it changes ones life

Yes it took me nearly 40 years before I finally realised that nobody saw things in the same way as I did, and it shocked me. How can one communicate with people with no such understanding, so that when one finds someone who does, it sets off such repercussions in the mind that it changes ones life. This happens every now and then, one may only be interested in their views on life but if they are also attractive to you and vice versa, then it can set all the bells in the world ringing in one's ears and heart. Is that not so dear Anna? The opposite when for example, putting on one's favourite music and they react by some chide remark that diminishes its impact on you too, then it is the opposite experience and negative, perhaps even spoiling the initial joy that instigated the love of the music. We are alone and yet we can dance together and sometimes find partners who dance in such perfect harmony with us that we don't believe it possible. Those who appreciate art are artists, those who appreciate poetry are poets, mostly anyway. Those who bought my wares were people who themselves had tried or were specially interested in the technique I used. That's how it is. I don't know the film you mentioned but will try to see it if I can!!! All of you here are more used to the popular songs and music of the times, i don't know a lot about it, some are good I can hear, but I suspect many of the young have this 'noise' as background to their thought, I must have the silence, or nature's natural sounds to function best with thoughts and classical music or silence to paint with. BUT Latin American or all sorts to dance with. I love the Indian classical music and song too, where they use the voice as an instrument, not necessarily to convey words, just sounds in a particular texture, so fascinating and cultured too. You've got me going again Anna I had better not go on,but it was to back you up on your assumption that all do not see as we do. Love from your sister Ann

Empathy for all mankind

Oh yes dearest Anna, oh yes he has the right stripes in his mind, the layers of human understanding outside creeds and fancies, where the deep truth and reality of existence give pain and joy to all peoples whatever their religions. Empathy for all mankind, the kind I know that you and I share and wish ALL others would, to end strife and unnecessary wars about petty disagreements in life's so otherwise wonderful path. Obama has a good head and a good heart and we rejoice that he is the one to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, he will, I think, deserve it over and over again, but we mustn't think that he can do it alone, he needs US behind him and here in Neopoets I think he has us, don't you Anna? Long live this Gaia of a blue planet, and long live the peace that its inhabitants find in the vicissitudes of nature, and the over complicated puzzles that those humans make for themselves when its all so simple, and so beautiful. Your poem is spoken from the diaphanous wing flaps of what we like to think of as angels, or spirits of the aesthetic qualities of perfect love and joy, you utter words that evoke those qualities and we are all in awe of them, they soothe our troubles and give us hope for new dawns, full of coloured light and magnanimous contemplations We all love you for it Anna of the starlit heavens and the dark crystal pools deep down under the earths skin reflecting the wholeness of all things. Dear Kailashana:

By the same token, we give form to our verses, and we dress them with the light we carry within, so that there might be awareness and enough in-sight to keep walking in uncertainty, guided --as you say-- by the lark's tender song. Sincerely, Hugo

saw your work....

"..if not through you eye of awareness.." I love works that do the important work of the world, building higher consciousness, awareness. Indeed this work of yours is involved in this effort. I think from reading this work that you are awakening, more and more. Can I make one suggestion? Look for the wide open door of perception that you have peaked through, from the unspoken/written feelings of this work. Nice creating!

I shall worship

As a student of literature, I no doubt am not quite equipped to comment much. I just know when I see something that's masterful. I love the way the emphasis changes - from the almost conversation "how *did* you think" to "*how* did you think". The parallel structure is just...really great, somehow, and the repetition of that question, yet with the subtly different emphasis...changes the way one approaches each of the verses. And did I mention that there is a haunting, lyrical quality to this? ....I worship. Sincerely, -Seek

A reflection

on the "I is Another" thing, the beautiful truth that we are, despite our best efforts at one with the universe and that the things sing through *us*, not the other way around. inspiring, happy poem, anna. good job! GB
