Apparition
Those piercing eyes haunt me, follow me, elude me.
Your piercing thoughts escape and float around my atmosphere, become my own.
In sleepless dreams you follow, a memory of life past,
And yet, I am deluded, you did not exist.
Where were you discovered?
What sacred realm did I summon you from?
My subconscious? My desires? My fears?
Will I ever send you back?
You have become my ghost. My nightmare. My past.
And yet I see a future without you.
A future without your haunting presence.
A future without your piercing eyes.
