Autumn Equinox

Autumn Equinox

Obsidian heavens sparkle

Constellations seem closer.

There is a chill in the air.

Day and night the same

Time is equal on this second day

of a year.

North to south Helios travels

Autumns recurring birthday.

Demeter reining goddess

Again mourns her lose.

Waiting the return of Kore.

With her return see the colors

burn on oak and elm.

Celebrate with drink, and harvest

the fruits of land.

Dance and sing, love and play

This time of gathering round the hearth.

The celestial scales balance all

Days become shorter as shadows lengthen

The resting tide is welcomed

Muin gives way to Gort in the

Ebbing time that rules.

A very nice write, autumnphoenix. Being a fan of the old gods, it's good to see them again in this seasonal hymn. Thanks for writing, Sincerely, Espen.

Hello Espen

I do love the old gods and their legends. I am a lover of myths and legends of all kinds. My favorites of course are Greek and Roman. Autumn is my favorite season so there it is. I am pleased you enjoyed it. Thanks and many blessings, autumnphoenix
