Happy Birthday James

His name is James P Gilmour
who I met not long ago
he's shown me a few things more
as he would only know

He's danced around the cricket pitch
sporting with his friends
and has faced many a glitch
but now it's on the mend

He's hanging in the cricket prize
a first for many years
with a painting on the larger size
which has broken all his fears

He always shows his funny side
when doing sixtoeight
which makes it for a good ride
means he'll always be a good mate

So it's time to clink the glasses
and sing happy birthday James
then open all the parcels
for we all love our dear James

On his natal day

This poem is crafted so well that through it, you can imagine how dear James is to the poet and how nice he is to have a piece like this on his natal day. I like the rhyme scheme and I add my voice to say 'Happy Birthday James'. Best wishes, Fleur. T.
