on tracks of dependence
along these tired addicts veins.

Sell the lucky country
at  offshore terminals,
let the Middle Kingdom burn
the brown coal
and oily clouds mask
their other crimes.

We'll maintain the lie, the mirage
as our children die,
and families dysfunctionalize
on longer working hours
higher debt,
and more adds that tell us
we are better off,
only four per cent responsible.

How creative our accountants numbers are
they keep us looking good,
in a sad Dorian Grey kind of way.
