"Now lies the earth all Danae to the stars, and all thy heart lies open unto me." -Tennyson

"Now lies the earth all Danae to the stars, And all thy heart lies open unto me."-Tennyson There was a meteor storm last night, While all the girls were sleeping. A shower of almost-stars Tumbled over them like open mouths. They never even stirred. Even the girl Whose skin had once screamed beneath unwanted hands Did not notice the fingers of light That parted her lips and streamed over her neck And lost themselves in her hair. In the morning, She woke with streaks of meteor on her thighs Something in her belly bloomed and glowed. Once, she remembered, She had wished upon the stars For love.

Your version of this

Your version of this starlight dreamed, did you feel this happening in your own abode ? And fired with the stars own lighted torches create this poem, inspired by the beautiful song that Alfred Lord Tennyson has in his turn inspired for Vanity Fair? What a dream, or you have been witness to the enactment of this dream, quite an experience in your imagination. A charmed story shells, you cup the tale with your magic shape. Love Ann of Norway

Vignettes of colour/sound/stillness blazing

perhaps it is because I did read some in past snippets and clips graffitti and college papers scattered in coffee shops in the eighties You have a perspective on writing that is keen and with its flavour thank you

Now Sleeps The Crimson Petal....

Hi diatom... I am a huge fan of Keats who was an influence on the great Lord Alfred Tennyson... he has to be the most quoted English poet ever! I absolutely adore your adaptation of Tennyson's poem... in fact I think you could have fenced quills across parchment with him! You have done the original and yourself excellent justice here, and may the love always bloom within and the petals fold outwards so the calyx, corolla and pistils are forever welcomed by the warm sunshine. Superb Diatom! Dale :)
