Shiva's Poem

I couldn't sleep
love poems instead of sheep
were drifting o'er white picket fencing
not that I'm complaining, mind you,
I'm grateful anytime my muse
strikes me with purpose and abandon,
caught I was,
a stunned gazelle in headlights
much like a Geisha's fan, widening
until bliss absorbed me,

I sucked you dry
and my mind was filled with semen,
I have bite marks on my soul

I am Lorelei, imprisoned in stone,
tossed across 1000 azure seas of cyberspace,

It is written a coward dies 10000 times, a Lover
only once,
I comb the darkness for a strand of light,

read your name floating in pools of blood.

Shit, now don’t you go

Shit, now don't you go blaming me for your hair Ms Seren. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Ok now to be serious, most of the time, when I can't sleep, I go down a vortex of light, you know like sci-fi movies just before they hit warp speed? Other than that I sleep like a baby, quite peacefully. I have learned to take paper and pen or laptop to bed just in case. Perhaps *semen* was unexpected, the Wow factoid, as it were. Ha! Love you, I wish I could hug you close, Jayne. And when I was with my daughter, I told her about you...said I'd be hugging her & holding her extra close... she didn't mind. Tamara sends you her love. You'd like each other. ~A

I wasnt thinking when I wrote that last night ... just read your comment and roared laughing .... thank you !!! when I go to bed I do the same thing,I get most of my ideas just before sleep soooo I have a pad and pen next to the bed ... I have woken the next morning and read the notes I make and think wtf where did that come from lol and yeh it may have been the semen but it was the poem as a whole that grabbed me as it always does ... Send my love and hugs to Tamara ... I am sure we would :) love and higgest bug hugs Jayne x x x x

Wonderful

I love the slow informal draw to this ...led like the sheep you were not dreaming of and then caught in the headlights of your captivating words which on each reading took a different slant. Well done...another wonderful write Liz

Thank you Liz, that was my intent. I like to write simply and then say something to catch the reader. Turn left instead of right. Joy is ever present even if it's not the surface emotion at the moment. ~A

Hey Theo. It’s Shiva

Hey Theo. It's Shiva Vishnu and Brahma. (Kali's the bad girl). I identify with her. Did you ever read my Kali poems? Time to dig them out, edit or perhaps write a 2009 incarnation of her. Thanks for your review. I find that happens so often here. Thematic poems en masse. ~A

Dear Anna

You can be anything and anyone when you write, and you aim high indeed. But you do hit the target with a bull's-eye every time! Always, Cat

That's one hell of a comment coming from you dear Cat, holding her dear cat (?). Not sure of the bulls-eye though I can guarantee a near-miss. ;-) ~A You know I think we'd all have a great time at a part if we could all attend it together.

A Word From Dalton

It is written a coward dies 10000 times, a lover only once, I comb the darkness for a strand of light. Read your name in pools of blood. I love these lines. Perfect resonance. This is a poem of two halves, it begins in the light of normality and ends in the darkness of the truly mystical. A joy to read. Dalton.

Glad you enjoyed the poem.

Glad you enjoyed the poem. It came to me in two halves. The second half before I went to sleep, the first when I awakened. Most of the time I do, say & write things bassackwards. ;-) ~A

It's a little before 7:00 a.m. here, my spotlight is gone, (you sure you weren't seeing things?) Ahh.... flame's fleeting mercurial feet. And by the way, congrats on your spotlighted poem, "In the Grace of Peace". Well done my Love. Peace is a gift the universe gives, unconditionally, mankind removes it volitionally. Good morning kisses, Anna p.s. When my son was small he'd say "yucky" with a huge grin on his face every time I kissed him. He still does.

Dear Kailashana

Dear Kailashana where did you come with the line: "A coward dies 10000 times, a lover only once" I had to come back to this work. Perfection. I have a couple of new ones out you might be interested in. Love John.
