The Darker Side

The Darker Side As “i” lay waiting patiently,Silently waiting for “my” day,When all “His” fear is cast aside,And all “His” hesitation, faded away…. This is the one prayer “I” will pray,“I hope no one meets “me” on that day” Regret and Pain will come before “me”,And all “He” stood for will bite the dust,Hatred will follow, despair closely behind,Along with destruction, hand in hand with mistrust... “God please!”This one prayer “I” pray,“I hope no one meets “me” on that day.” I’ve fought this thing with all that is right,But, alas, “I” fear this may be “My” last night,Here “I” lay stripped bare of everything, save “my” pride,Then “I” say Au revoir and you meet….” “The Darker Side”

yes close but..

the part about it being my story possibly, yes. notice how some pronouns begin with capital letters and others don't. i was trying to put empasis on the fact that even while i was writing the poem there remains a constant battle between the two opposing sides ( good vs. evil at the core of it all) and i wanted to establish that in the poem, so in the first line, "As "i" lay waiting patiently" that's the darker side and lines like, "This is the one prayer “I” will pray" refer to not necessarily just myself but represents the average good person. I merely wanted to identify each side and give recognition to each's simultaneous existence with the corresponing side. this poem was actually inspired by an anime i watch.
