Before the Night Falls

Before the night falls
and we dream again
tell me true,
my dear friend
who have we betrayed
today?
Was it a promise or a vow?
Where was the truth
when we turned away?
Did we speak as if
we knew what to say?
Did we save face
did we fall from grace?

Was love even mentioned,
our solemn intention?

Who pays for yesterday?

Who walks through the veil
of today, unconquered --
barbarians storm the gate
beg forgiveness.
blind deaf and dumb,

whilest you & I lock the doors to Paradise.

Leave me! You have raped my soul
for the last time!

Judas was my brother and Eve my mother.

A Word From Dalton

Loved the lines "who walked through the veil of today, unconquered." the last four lines especially powerful that went: "Judas was my brother and Eve my mother." But remember even when Judas died there was a storm. Liked the poem keep it up.
