Stained Glass Transparency

1.

As long as I watch the leaves
turn to Autumn,
fall on the still-green grass
I can forget our lotus,
blossoming in the Spring
when I loved you,
and the days were long
and we had eternity to dance,

we were tonal poems then,
baring
wanton flesh and deliberate soul,

and now the nights are long,
pale lips turn these words
over graves

ashes and dust,
sapphires and rubies
of Anna's rust-covered memory
icy grips of cold fingers
reaching,
screaming at me:

There is no stopping halfway
when you take the last train
with nowhere to go and you
always end up somewhere else.

2.

Tell me what happened
my Darling

nothing?

but oh,
the colours,
the rainbows,
the sound,
the beauty of it all.

3.

Before the beauty fades
on the last leaf,
clinging
before the cold wind blows
in
as it must
let us remember
when Autumn turned
to memories,
when the perfume of the
sun bore the green grass
of home.

4.

Apple blossom memories,
stained-glass transparency.

Leaf upon leaf
ride the wild sky,
licks of flame,
golden arrows...

Autumnal Fire.

hello Anna

There is music in your words, music in the wind all mixed up with the colors and the leaves and the dreaming. All these poems go so well together. But my favorite is the first one and the fourth. I love these lines: Apple blossom memories, stained glass transparency, Leaf upon leaf ride the wild sky, licks of flame, golden arrows…. Autumnal Fire. Always, Cat

Oh yes, yes & yes! That is poetry in it's brightest, bloodiest, harshest & most beautiful form, you are so so good at this woman, supurb. You might as well have pulled out my intestines Anna, slowly(& in empathy with you), we readers will feel this, I am sure I wont be alone here... that is the gift the blessing & the curse of a good writer... you Anna, & you will take us through all the experiences you write with mastery & skill. Ah Anna, we are lucky to read you. Unusual format fixed. lol.

Unusual format fixed. lol. Connor, nice pen name, *thewholesoul*... most of us think we need *fixing* to be *whole*....even if fixing happens... Thanks for reading, kid-Cat. (she said with slight pangs of jealousy, after all, I am *older*. ;-) Love your quote from HH Anni. Inner happiness & peace is about all we can hope for, hoping it goes out like *waves*.... eh? ~A

It DID flow....

.....however, I had a bit of troubles with the, continuous "fragmented sentences"...but, that's just me. Truly, a good effort ! "Write on"! sincerely, #{:-{)}8==== docmaverick.

Hi Doc, thanks for reading

Hi Doc, thanks for reading my "continuous fragmented sentences". There are poems/poets who put thoughts together, woven together by a single thread, in this case *disjointed* memories. I'm glad you appreciate my efforts. Smiling, Anna

Sigh. It’s a funny thing

Sigh. It's a funny thing about poetry. The ones that we identify with; sometimes are God-forsaken human side, sometimes our humanity born of pure spirit. And memories? Come and go without consideration. Thank you all for reading. There's a quietude in my life now, a pregnant pause, as it were. ~A

Indeed,

Lovely. Disjointed thoughts are but the separate colors that derive from light passing through the prisms of our mind. Each, reflected in its own beauty, is still to its own self true and is to be compared to the others only as an example from whence beauty birthed, and what further it reveals.

Oh so very sad, the loving

Oh so very sad, the loving and the loosing but what wonderful poetry it inspires in you. My favourite lines in this were we were tonal poems then, baring wanton flesh and deliberate soul, I didn't see the numbering as disjointed but rather as a lead through the stages of the relationship. Seabhac

I have to laugh out loud, my

I have to laugh out loud, my dear friends in poetry, I had forgotten that I wrote Stained Glass Transparency. There is a down side in *being here now*. ;-) Again thank you all for caring enough to read and listen to the music of your hearts, poetry--the language of love in this millenium--please continue to spread the *word*. ~A There are no strangers in Paradise.

Impressive vignettes.

Impressive vignettes. Your title is stunning and moves a reader down the page gracefully. I felt like I was peering secretly through your window, gaining a glimpse of private conversation; wanting to be ever so quiet as not to disturb. You brought your images full circle with wonderful workings of colors and seasons. Truly a breathtaking write that will stay with me for quite some time. How fortunate to have selected this gem to read today. Thank you. ~Pamela

Hey...

I agree with Cloudthings on this. hmmmmmmm.. pausing to consider further, forgive me. once wrote; ' yet summer always leads to fall and all the love, I should recall, but no use; with autumn leaves my heart as well...' I've always kept one eye open so love might see one candle.
