Life far away yet close

Life far away yet close

And as my life to yours is pressed

all sense of stress dispersed,

and I am blessed

with calm of love, its gentle sweet caress

my arms draw tighter round your forms so bold

and my heart beats with yours;

no we're not old,

we're timeless,

ageless

here indulging our foothold in the hour

and from this bond are young as youth's great fire

of ecstasy,

desire

its flames lick round within

I fain could let you in

but you are far away

'twill be another day, another time,

when sun and moon have done their round

and sent your heart to mine

together there to dine

on loves fine wine

and feeling thus join heaven's soul divine.

Ann,

another gem from your magic pen. This reads as if it had been written by one of the great old poets, effortless rhyme, flowing naturally. I particularly enjoyed these lines: no we’re not old, we’re timeless, ageless here indulging our foothold in the hour Carpe diem, dear Ann! Yours, ~Nina

Dear Ann of Norway:

It's a beautiful poem, it certainly amazes me for its pace and musicality. Excellent poem. Our dear, wise Queen of the freform verse has done it again! The land of Ibsen has given us a great new poetess. Sincerely, Hugo

Takk alle sammen

Thank you all of you, select few, and yes Hugo I am a little old fashioned my father was born in 1898, and the Victorian atmosphere only just rubbing off the manners and expressions, but I hope I am not so 'old hat' that the sentiments can be expressed in today's poetry with the borrowings of their powerfully moving kind of rhetoric, it gives a poem a kind of authenticity- or poetry- for me to be swayed away into their realms of fantasy using words that have that certain je-ne-sais-quoi ! And no, take heart Hugo, I don't think you were saying, or doing what I have read into your comment, as in any way negative, all your comment was positive, but I do admit to being, slightly anyway, from another age, another era of writing. Long live those ancient bards who could phrase a language with such beauty and panache that we still can enjoy their works. NOT IN ANY way hereby comparing my little old self with any of those erudite magicians of language, no oh no. I do my thing in my own way largely self taught in the areas that have inspired and interested me, not what 'they' say we SHOULD read and SHOULD understand, but what I find I can understand and relate to, after all why live at all if one has to learn things of little or no interest to oneself? This life is too short to sit for hours and hours studying something we know we shall NEVER have any use for whatever. I hated school and would have liked, I said so at 8 yrs. , to be an apprentice to some handcraft and THROUGH that learn History, maths, etc. instead of going to that institution and be belittled by the teachers and the other children NO; I didn't enjoy school, except for the few individual teachers who were in love with their subject and could enthuse me likewise. There you are that's what you've got out of me now!!!!Nt that you're interested! Love to all, I love you all for your positive attitudes to each other, long may it be so. Ann P.S. From a letter to Longo apropos education:-Then you're exactly like my Aunt Jean who read books at lightening speed, but 'they' say the brain can do so if one trains it to, the capacity for such speed is there, we tend not to use it, stupid, why don't they teach such in school, how to use this magically superior computer of the human mind and brain properly, they concentrate on all the old ideas and must soon update the whole concept of education don't you think? His answer was "Absolutely!"
